There are some wedding venues that feel like the couple's home for the day and when you arrive at a wedding at Downham Hall, it feels just like that. Set amongst beautiful countryside and just down the road from me in Billericay, I often deliver wedding flowers whilst the bride's father is writing his speech on the front lawn and I can hear giggles of the bridal party getting ready upstairs.
Lizzie & Kyle's day was no different. After meeting up a couple of times, once over a coffee at Downham Hall, I'd put a floral mood board together to show Lizzie how I'd interpreted her ideas and thoughts, adding in that specially requested apricot rose for her bridal bouquet. When the reply was "seeing all this has got me rather emotional! You have 100% understood the vibe I wanted".......that's when I know all my questions and getting to know you as a couple has paid off.
On the day, I made my way to the bridal preparation room and handed over the bouquets of garden roses, blousy peonies and scented sweet peas in shades of peach, apricot and white which seemed so fitting for the venue. Vases of sweet peas were placed on the reception tables and the filled milk churns framed the aisle.
Whilst the British weather dictated the location of the ceremony, with the flower filled milk churns moved swiftly inside, it certainly didn't put a dampener on the day and the blue skies returned for the rest of the celebrations.
It's always such a joy to be chosen as a couple's wedding florist and so kind to receive comments and cards thanking me afterwards......
"Thank you so much for being part of our special day. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous. You understood exactly what I wanted and I'm so grateful to have those flowers captured in our photos. Your are such a talent and I hope your business continues to be a success. Lots of love L&K"
